Statute of Limitations

FELA provides that in order to recover compensation for your injuries or condition, you must file your action in court within 3 years after the time when you knew you had an injury or condition and you knew or had reason to believe that it was caused by some negligence of the railroad. If you do not do so, you will not be able to pursue a claim. That is one of the main reasons why you should consult an attorney immediately after an injury or diagnosis of an occupational condition.
